Alpenstuben in Hohenschwangau

There was a pretty cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. The location of the hotel is particularly good if you want to visit the two castles. Both are within easy walking distance. The room is clean and well-maintained with a great view of Neuschwanstein Castle.

A really nice hotel right at the foot of 2 castles (Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein), as well as on the imposing Alpsee. My dog ​​and I were given a really warm welcome. We had a great room, great food in the evening and an extensive delicious breakfast in the morning 🐾💕

Nice little restaurant near the castle. But what I don't think works at all: 1 € surcharge for changing the side dish or dividing the meal onto 2 plates. I don't find it justified.

We went down from the mountains, and here he is! :) We had a very tasty lunch at the restaurant. Fast service, friendly and helpful staff. Local and Italian cuisine. Decent portions, the skill of the chef on top. They accept cards. 😂 This is important in Bavaria.

Ate twice here in the restaurant. Delicious food and friendly staff. Prices more like in many other restaurants in DE - not extremely expensive. As far as I know, the kitchen is open until 8 p.m., otherwise (almost) everything in the city is closed in the evening.

We stayed in the hotel for one night. It was all great. Very clean nice room with modern bathroom. There was even a bottle of water and a kettle with coffee and tea in the room. The breakfast was very rich and everything was fresh. When they noticed that it was my birthday, I even got a glass of champagne and a piece of Sacher cake brought to the table. We would love to visit the hotel again.

A very nice hotel and top service. The restaurant is very tasty and the service very polite, humorous and competent. Both castles very close and also the Alpsee and the museum + discounts. Only from 7 a.m. it is very noisy due to slamming doors and loud chatting cleaning staff that was a shame for a vacation, as we would have liked to sleep in. Nevertheless, we will be happy to come back and recommend the hotel

We spent 4 very nice days in this hotel. Service employees are attentive, lively and very nice. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Food is very good. I am a trained cook and can confirm that in a well-founded manner. We would love to come back. 😍

Wonderful little hotel. Breakfast was included and was neat and plentiful. Despite Corona, everything was handled professionally and well without it being stressful. Room cozy and clean. We had a room upstairs under the roof and from the balcony we had a beautiful view of Neuschwanstein. The dinner cheap and tasty. Just like the drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is nothing more to expect. We will be happy to come back here.

Hotel location perfect for castle tours. Staff friendly and breakfast quality decent. Room on the small side, but sufficient for a few days. Beds were very saggy and unfortunately we had the restaurant's beer garden right below us. Therefore constantly loud conversations, food and cigarette smells.

Very very good hotel. Good location. Extremely friendly staff. Wonderful "romantic room" with a view of Neuschwanstein Castle, super cozy and modern furnishings in the room itself. Excellent and extensive breakfast. Restaurant highly recommended, very good food, large selection, good portions.

The location is certainly great and the hotel benefits from it. Despite spending the night in a higher room category, this was very small and poorly equipped. Breakfast was moderate, dinner in the restaurant was reasonable for the prices. If you want to spend a night or two in the immediate vicinity of the castles, this is certainly the right place, but it is not enough for more.

We only visited for dinner as this was one of the only restaurants open late. It won't disappoint, we enjoyed our meals here, service was excellent as well.

Not friendly servicemen. Maybe they have a to match people. But he need to understand thet this people who kam there they cam to weekend there, he need to be friendly. Over all food was good.

We asked for an apple pie and it was cold, just from a fridge, but menu said it should be hot apple pie! Service was awfully, a waiter was rude, food not really great. If there was any other place with the empty sites we would not come here.

Perfect location and clean room but not so quiet due to thin walls. The gentleman checking us in was so informative and told us about history of nearby Fussen and fabulous things to do the next day (after Castle.) The breakfast was quite good. It starts a little after 8 a.m. so be aware if you habe early castle reservations. The dinner [& the whole town] close up Very early so if you arrive after 6:30 p.m., make sure you already had dinner. Definitely reserve a parking spot if driving as their lot is across from hotel and totally worth it.

Can I just say THANK YOU once again to the hospitality from your staff, especially Frances/Francesca (sorry i was in panic mode, didn't get to confirm your name ) for helping me! I was supposed to get on a bus operated by AutobusOberbayern Gmbh to return to Munich. However there was no sighs of any buses arriving by the time it supposed to be there. So Frances/Francesca was helping me the whole way through until i got on 1 of the buses. THANK YOU!!!! Apart from my incident, guys , their food and customer service are great! Their staff are just really friendly, welcoming and helpful in general! I am giving out this comment was not only because they helped me, was also the way i felt since i arrived at this hotel ! And hotel room is very clean,cozy and very comfy. They even have a little balcony to let you sit outside and admire this magical place. My overall experience with Hotel Alpenstuben was amazing and 5 stars is just not enough !

Excellent location, next to the ticket office for castle. Hotel has their own parking lot and marvellous restaurant.

This is the worst experience i have ever had in traveling. Had one dinner in the hotel, the service rep(waiter) was extremely impatient and rude- we waited for quite sometime, only asked one question, got very horrible attitude- “come on, i serve 100 tables, u should read and understand what u want to take before talk to me”. Furthermore, they charged some bill that we did n’t order at all!!!! Luckily we read the bill and found out! What a bad experience. Btw, the hygiene of the room, the picture is self explanatory

Not far from the ticket centre, recommended to stop by after the castles visit. The ambient was good and the foods are really good as well. Both indoor and outdoor seating available, these setup could aptly to almost all munich restaurants.

My review about restaurant not hotel. The service is Ok, there's menu for childrens and for vegetarians. But the food itself not tasty and expensive for what you get: I ordered vegetarian portion of rice with tomato soar sauce and got a lot of white rice and a little of vegetables when the rice was prepared without any culinary qualification- if I had only boiling water and white rice I was did myself exactly what I've got at this restaurant. And this costed me 12 Euro ...

TOURIST SCAM ALERT: Wiener Schnitzel is NOT wiener schnitzel...it's pork! Typical predatory practice on tourists. This hotel's restaurant has "Wiener Schnitzel" listed on its menu outside on the street. That's what I was looking for, so I immediately went inside. The waitress comes to take my order and I tell her "Wiener Schnitzel", she says "OK". My order comes, and it's pork, not veal. Anyone who knows anything about Wiener Schnitzel knows that it's made with veal, not pork. In fact, to avoid mixing up different products, the German food committee has decided that a "Wiener Schnitzel" must be made of veal, and a Schnitzel made of pork has to be differentiated and called "Schnitzel Wiener Art". Anyway, so I eat less than half my dish as I'm starving but am not a fan of pork. When I ask for the bill, the old man manager asks if everything was good since he sees my half-eaten plate. I told him I had ordered a Wiener Schnitzel like it says outside on the menu but got a pork schnitzel instead. He tells me the menu outside says "Wiener Art Schnitzel" (which isn't even the correct term for the pork variety, but close enough). I told him no it doesn't, it says "Wiener Schnitzel" (I even took a picture). He goes to check, confirms it indeed says only "Wiener Schnitzel" but then claims it's in "quotes" so it's not meant to really mean its Wiener Schnitzel and shrugs it off. Scummy. He takes ages to bring me the bill and when we finally does, I see he charged me the full amount for the falsely advertised dish. These predators think they can take advantage of tourists because they don't rely on repeat customers, but thanks to the internet, we can fight back and warn others about these scummy practices. Don't support these predatory practices that attempt to take advantage of tourists and please eat somewhere else.

Nice hotel. Room was clean but without air conditioning. Staff was friendly Breakfast was good. Hot food was great. It was quiet in the evening.

Food close to Ok, service a disaster. Waitress did not know the difference between water and wine glass, served the white wine warm and thought it would be cooled in a warm plastic case. She did not know how the card payment system worked, werent able to split the bill in two. Very kind though..
